Privacy Policy
1. Overview & Commitment
Container Tracer ("we", "our", or "the Service") is an independent tracking and logistics intelligence utility. We respect your privacy and are committed to transparent data practices. This Privacy Policy details what information is processed when you use our web platform.
2. Information We Process
- Container Inquiry Data: When you submit container numbers, they are sent to the public enquiry for the port you selected. A recent answer may be cached. A check made without an account is not stored against a user profile. An account stores the watchlists, arrival alerts and signed-in search history for that account, including the container numbers and the port.
- Browser storage: A watchlist saved without an account, and your last search, are stored in this browser. A list saved before ports were recorded is treated as Jebel Ali. You can delete a list in the workspace or clear the site's storage in your browser.
- Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address, a salted password hash, and whether you want arrival alerts subscribed automatically. Watchlists you sync are stored on our server with the port they belong to (Jebel Ali or Khor Fakkan). Search history for a signed-in session is stored the same way.
- Alerts and email checks: An arrival alert stores the email address, the container numbers, and the port. A guest confirms that email with a short-lived one-time code. We send the alert email when the container is first reported at that port. Browser push, if you allow it, stores the push subscription needed to deliver the notification.
- Server & Security Logs: Our infrastructure automatically logs standard web request metadata (such as IP address, user-agent, timestamp, and referring URL) strictly for security monitoring, rate limiting, and DDoS mitigation.
3. Cookies & Analytics
The site uses essential cookies for sign-in and security. It also loads Google Analytics, which may set its own cookies and receive page-view data. You can block those cookies in your browser. Blocking them does not stop a container check.
4. Third-Party Services & Links
Our website contains links and references to external official portals, such as Dubai Trade (dubaitrade.ae), DP World (dpworld.com), and Gulftainer. Container numbers you check are sent to the public enquiry for the port you selected. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or availability of third-party websites.
5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
Transient container lookup caches are routinely purged. Delete a watchlist in the workspace or on the dashboard to remove that saved list. To ask for account or alert data to be removed, email the address below. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes lists and the last search stored only on that device.
