About Container Tracer
Container Tracer (containertracer.showmynodes.com) is a free, independent tool for checking containers at Jebel Ali (terminals T1 to T4) and Khor Fakkan (KCT and SAJAA). It is built for freight forwarders, customs brokers, hauliers and cargo owners. Watchlists and alerts stay with the port you selected.
1. What the Platform Is
A workspace for checking up to 300 containers at once, explaining what each status means, showing free-time expiry, exporting to CSV, saving watchlists and sending arrival alerts. Checking status is free and needs no account.
2. Why It Exists & The Problem It Solves
For anyone handling dozens of import containers at a time, checking them one by one is slow:
- Repetitive Single-Query Lookups: Checking containers one at a time means re-typing every number. Container Tracer supports batch queries, allowing users to paste full lists and evaluate an entire consignment at once.
- Opaque Status Codes: Cryptic status codes such as
LANDED FROM VESSEL,TO TOWN, orMT FROM TOWNcan confuse shippers unfamiliar with port terminology. We translate these raw milestones into practical operational advice and next steps. - Storage & Free-Time Anxiety: Calculating when port storage charges begin requires cross-referencing discharge dates against terminal tariff tiers. Our integrated Storage Calculator gives an indicative estimate of when storage charges start and how much they might be.
- Report Generation: Getting results into a spreadsheet meant copying and pasting. Container Tracer exports the whole batch to CSV in one click.
3. Who Runs It, and the Link to ShowMyNodes
Container Tracer is built and run by Moncy Kuriakose. It is an independent project. It is not operated, sponsored or endorsed by DP World, Dubai Trade, Gulftainer, Dubai Customs, JAFZA or any shipping line.
The site is hosted on a subdomain of showmynodes.com, which belongs to the same owner. ShowMyNodes is a separate product. It shares the domain and hosting with this tool, and it also has no connection with DP World or Dubai Trade.

4. How Information Is Interpreted
Container data on Container Tracer comes from publicly accessible port records (see the methodology page) and is interpreted with fixed rules. We standardize abbreviations, calculate dwell days from vessel discharge timestamps, and correlate gate events with Equipment Interchange Receipts (EIR).
For a technical breakdown of our data ingestion, caching policies, and latency tolerances, please consult our dedicated Data & Methodology Specification.
